A Full-Circle Moment of Giving Back
On September 19th, 2025, Tuyen spent a meaningful day volunteering at Catholic Charities in Leominster as part of United Way’s Day of Caring. The experience held special significance—Catholic Charities was the very organization that once sponsored her family, along with others, when they arrived in the U.S. as refugees.
It served as a powerful reminder of:
Humble beginnings — from refugee camps to building a stable life in a new country.
A family’s courage — the willingness to risk everything for hope and the lifeline Catholic Charities extended to them.
The enduring power of community — how compassion and connection can make the impossible possible.
Catholic Charities’ lasting impact — providing food, shelter, counseling, family support, elder care, and education that extend far beyond resettlement.
A living legacy — one that comes full circle, allowing Tuyen to give back to the very place where her journey began.
Thank you, Catholic Charities Worcester County, for the hope you’ve given so many families, including mine.
Community in Action: Helping Foster Kids Thrive
In August, instead of spending the afternoon with cartoons and snacks, Tuyen and her children rolled up their sleeves to volunteer with Fostering Change, Inc at their "Supplies For Success event —hauling boxes, moving tables, and packing supplies with enthusiasm and kindness, never a single complaint.
Fostering Change brings hope and support to kids in foster care and their families. From 🎒 back-to-school supplies to 🎁 holiday toys and 🧥 winter coats, every donation and volunteer effort helps a child feel seen, celebrated, and cared for. Thanks to this event, 88 foster children headed back to school equipped with all the supplies they needed to feel confident.
The women behind Fostering Change, Inc. are true powerhouses. Their mission goes far beyond handing out supplies—they provide foster children with the tools, confidence, and love they need to thrive.
